For the Shippee Hall project, Carlin performed extensive interior renovations to an existing dining hall area, situated on the first floor of a UConn dormitory. The entire space was gutted and rebuilt as a new catering kitchen, to service other dining facilities on the campus. Exterior loading dock facilities were also built to facilitate the new kitchen operations. Major elements of the renovation included sitework, demolition, asbestos abatement, concrete, masonry, structural steel, rough and finish carpentry, doors and hardware, interior finishes, foodservice equipment, fire protection sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
