ARCHITECT: Fletcher-Thompson
Teaming with Fletcher-Thompson, Carlin Construction performed as GC for the design/build construction of this new military fire station with a 4-bay apparatus room. Located on the Stones Ranch Military Reservation, the building’s exterior walls are masonry cavity construction with contrasting brick veneers. Masonry was also used for all interior partitions to provide long lasting, abuse-resistant performance.
The roof is framed with economical light gauge metal trusses. Interior features include sleeping quarters, a full kitchen, a physical training room — and a mechanical mezzanine accessed via a retractable staircase. The apparatus bay includes overhead water-supply quick fills, and a complete vehicle exhaust system with individual drops for each apparatus.
