fMRI Suite Phillips Science Building
Carlin Construction provided General Contractor services for the fMRI Acquisition and Installation project at the Phillips Communication Sciences Building (PCSB) which is where students majoring in communication processes or communication disorders access faculty offices and research. Our work included: Demolition of specific site elements, exterior wall openings, interior walls and partitions, interior finishes and all associated mechanical and electrical items. An existing transformer along with associated primary & secondary feeders was demolished and replaced with the added installation of switchgear that provides new electric service to the Phillips building.
Work also included the construction of new site elements including exterior areaway with stairs and screening/landscaping for mechanical and electrical equipment. This project also called for the modification of the exterior building envelope, including new windows, storefront system, exterior wall repairs and rooftop equipment screens. The installation of structural steel framing provided new floor areas and support to new rooftop equipment on the existing structure. Additionally, Carlin provided new interior spaces which include partitions, doors and interior vision panels, casework, mechanical and electrical systems and finishes.
