Phase II - Thames Edge at Fairview
Carlin Construction Company served as the Construction Manager and General Contractor for Phase 2 of the multi-phased housing component at Thames Edge at Fairview, which provides seniors with the ability to continue to live in the beautiful greater Groton‐New London community in an independent capacity while, enjoying the benefits of community living and a guaranteed continuum of five-star care throughout their lives.
Phase 2 of the project included the construction of 17 additional homes of single, double, and quad cottage configurations in nine buildings. The Phase 2 homes, ranging from flats of 1,500 sf to 3,800 sf walkouts, were designed with architectural enhancements such as wrap-around decks, corner glazing to maximize the view across the river and to the south all the way out to Long Island Sound, and high-end interior finish options. Construction started in November 2014 with a phased turnover and the entire project completed in January 2016.
Located on 70 acres along the Thames River in Groton, CT, Thames Edge at Fairview was founded in 1892 by the CT Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge as a non-profit senior housing and healthcare provider. Today, the campus includes multiple facilities, providing rehabilitation services and options for independent living.
